Section 439A Report Workshops

In June 2008, ASIC issued a report on their findings from a review of reports under Section 439A of the Corporations Act. In the report ASIC identified a number of areas where it considered improvements could be made that would assist creditors make more informed decisions about the future of the company.

Course Objectives:

To assist practitioners with improving the standard of their section 439A reports, the IPA has developed a course which covers:

  • the legal, court and professional standard requirements for the preparation of section 439A reports;
  • what information needs to be provided and how to gather than information, including detailed step by step guides; and
  • how to provide the information to creditors.

The course will also include extensive exercises where participants will have an opportunity to critically review actual section 439A reports to see where and how they can be improved.

Who should attend?

This course will be suitable for all staff who are responsible for preparing or reviewing section 439A reports.

Delivery?

There are two options:

  1. Attend a public course
  2. Arrange to have a private workshop for your firm*

*this new initiative allows firms to create an in-house s439A Workshop. An advantage of this option is that your firm can also nominate to confidentially discuss and critically review their own s439A reports
