The 2nd edition of the IPA Code has now been approved by the IPA Board and took effect from 1 January 2011. The 1st edition of the Code is withdrawn from that date. For details of the changes made to the Code, please refer to this article. A pdf of Version 2 of the IPA Code can be downloaded here. IPA CONSTITUTIONAL CHANGES ADOPTEDAt its AGM on 19th May 2010, IPA members passed a series of special resolutions amending the Association's Constitution. The Resolutions are available, along with the draft Regulations and Guidelines that will now be formally considered by the National Committee. A revised Consitution, incorporating these and previous amendments, will be available soon. Denise North Insolvency Quality ReviewersThe IPA is seeking expressions of interest from senior insolvency practitioners who would like to become Insolvency Quality Reviewers. A call for expressions of interest appeared in the September 2009 issue of the AIJ. Download a registration form in Word or PDF. Expressions of interest can be lodged with the IPA at any time. IPA Response to Senate Inquiry ReportThe IPA has published its formal response to the Senate Economics References Committee's Report on its recent Inquiry into Liquidators and Administrators. An article outlining each of the Committee's recommendations, and the IPA's view on them, appears in the December edition of the Australian Insolvency Journal. The IPA consulted extensively with members over the course of the Inquiry, and representatives have met with Treasury and ASIC officials and with Parliamentary Secretary Bradbury since the tabling of the Report. We will continue to keep members informed of progress in the Government's consideration of the report. If you have any questions or comments, please contact me at ceo@ipaa.com.au or on 02 9290 5741.
